Join us in Tolmin, nestled in the Julian Alps, boasts breathtaking scenery, consistent thermals, and exceptional cross country flying opportunities. Its surrounding peaks and ridges make it a top choice for unforgettable alpine adventures.

A typical flying day begins with a launch from the beautifully maintained Kobala takeoff, which overlooks the stunning Soča Valley. These skills will be developed throughout the course and will enhance your XC flying and aid your competiton flying in the future.

TRAVEL

You can fly into Ljubljana Airport and take a taxi directly to Tolmin. Alternatively, you can fly into Trieste Airport and arrange a taxi to Tolmin from there.

Tolmin is a charming small town offering a variety of accommodations, including hotels and Airbnbs within the town itself. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are several campsites located just a 10-minute drive from the town center.

Kobala takeoff, perched 1052 meters above the picturesque Soča Valley, is a highly versatile launch site accommodating both easterly and westerly wind directions. Typically, we take off around noon to ensure the southerly slopes are fully heated, generating optimal thermals. This timing provides the perfect conditions for exhilarating out-and-return flights of up to 100 km. The valley has plenty of landing options.
